First full week of spring! I love the spring season for it’s beautiful weather, flowers…and also for the warning it gives me that summer is coming…time to shed the winter fat.

Easier said than done of course! I love all kinds of food so it is very hard for me to shed the extra pounds. So for some of the meals, I try to come up with salads that will satisfy the foodie in me. They have to be tangy, sweet and sour and of course, the crunch. In true Indfused style, the salads are healthy, filling and scrumptious.

This Red Cabbage and Chick Pea Salad with Lemony Honey Ginger dressing with Turmeric is no exception.

The dressing is all natural, homemade, low fat and is tangy, sweet and sour. I added turmeric for its health benefits and chaat masala for that unique tang! Plus it has spices that are gut friendly too.

Speaking of gut, I need all the help I can get. My main problem area is my tummy. So I am happy when I like salads that I actually look forward to eating. This salad proved to be one of them and the dressing was so yummy and healthy that I served some extra on the side too.

  1. Ahh here’s another idea where you’ve used the chaat flavors. Loving all these salads Sandhya, and you’ve provided great ideas to incorporate into dressings. Like you, typically we do not use store bought dressings; these sound amazing! The colors and crunch really draw one to all these gorgeous salads. Happy Easter, I’ve just a small packet of turtles for Bert and myself to gorge on as an Easter candy 🙂 We used to have the best easter eggs when we lived in England. Wow!

    1. Thanks so much Loretta! Happy Easter with your friends. Hope the weather holds up on the east coast. For some regions in US, it is going to be the coldest Easter ever.
Enjoy the turtles. I love pecan turtles too. what kind of Easter eggs did you have in England?

  2. Such a lovely share and brilliant images. This is what I am currently living on since summers are at its peak and no amount of food wishes to be accepted by the stomach except salads, juices and fruits. Loved the aromatic dressing.
