Immensely popular Indian Chinese food to celebrate Chinese New Year today!

Today, on Chinese New Year’s Day, I was reflecting on the tremendous popularity of the Chinese cuisine in India. As a child, I think that was the first multi-cultural food I was introduced to and have fond memories of how much I enjoyed the cute Chinese restaurant and its food. The history of immigrants coming to India from China goes back centuries and generations of Chinese families have lived in India. On one of our visits to India, I remember how shocked my daughter was to hear the Chinese hair dresser speak fluent Marathi- a language we speak at home.
The Indo Chinese food has become mainstream cuisine in India and is made by adapting the Chinese seasonings and cooking techniques to the Indian palate. My children also enjoyed the Indo Chinese food when we visited India so I have been making it at home here in America for many years.
Gobi Manchurian is typically deep fried in restaurants as are the noodles for the Chinese Bhel and the American chop suey …btw it is very different in taste than the chop suey we get here in America 🙂
In true Indfused style, the recipes here are figure friendly, made with locally available ingredients and simply moreish! Hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Enjoy!
Love,
❤

Chinese and Italian food seems to have adapted so much in India that people pick them every time they eat out.
